Pyeongchang Rural 20

Seoul- Odaesan- Uiyaja (pyeongchang)- Seoul

November 27-28

This was a first for me again.

A week ago, i stumbled upon this site that led me to another site called "Rural 20". Apparently,
its a government program from Seoul that brings foreigners to the countryside of korea to let them
experience what it is like there.  It started late August, and ends on November. Its a marvelous program to say the least, because aside from a great itinerary, which was handled by Lotte Tours, everything from hotel to food were free! Thats right. Free! So sad to say, i only got to join the last one.:(

This was the program i attended . Wind Village.

Anyways, the day started quite well, i had to wake up around 630 in the morning since we had to meet at the Seoul station around 8. Since this was my first time,(and probably last since that was the last tour until next year) i didnt had much sleep and i wanted to make sure i arrived on time.
I arrived at the station at exactly 8, and to my surprised there were a lot of foreigners. Two buses full. equals to around 70 of them, which was great because i had a blast changing experiences and getting to know what people think on the other side of the world.

Because of the "snow storm", we had a 6 hour bus ride instead of 3. The traffic was horrible and we had to stop 3 times because the traffic was that bad. However, it was all worth it. When we arrive at the flower farm village, though it was winter already-meaning no flowers, the site was still amazing. its like you're in a fairy tale and you don't want to leave. We had special bibimbap there for lunch which was around 4 pm already^^

After Flower village- hotel -drank with group- slept for 4 hours-  ate bulgogi for breakfast-temple visit- wind village- seoul .

yes im tired of typing already.

note to self: stop being lazy and write everything down for once before you forget them!!!

Lessons learned in this trip:

  1. Laos people have a cool way of talking and they look like pinoys.
  2. Its always nice to explore. You get to see a lot more if you make yourself more "adventurous"
  3. You can buy a 2 liter pet bottle Soju -_-
  4. Uzbekistan people can drink a lot. and i mean A LOT.
  5. Bulgogi for breakfast and scrambled eggs are amaazing!
  6. 6 hour bus ride ain't so bad.
  7. When you see snow make snow angels , and also a snow man!! Don't forget!
  8. Charge your camera battery especially during COLD Trips! the cold drains your battery fast!
  9. Sleeping on the floor with heaters heating your back is not a good idea.
  10. Zealously find more FREE STUFF that the Seoul Government has to offer.
