STAIRSsSsS

Stairs!! They are everywhere here in Seoul!

Seriously.

I think i took like a dozen to a gazillion photos of different stairs to where i was going.

Small stairs. Big stairs. Wide Stairs. Steep Stairs.YONSEI Stairs. Sexy Stairs Even.

*I promise to post those later. Have to buy a card reader first. I hate my school for not having bikes around.-_- YONSEI!!!!!!

I guess thats what sums my most of my day today going around seoul.

I went to Yongsan Market to buy this Electronic Dictionary that translate Korean-English and vice versa. What's interesting is that the models here is cheaper than what i've bought from China.

So i'm here guessing. It's either korean models are low quality or i just got duped back in China and bought an over expesnive dictionary.

Anyways, going back. Yes Stairs. Everything that happened to me today happened with some stairs around.

Scene 1
When i got lost in subway near Itaewon, i tried asking some people around for directions. Unfortunately i forgot people here speak little English.
Chinese did not help either.
Luckily, there was this German Lady and her CUTEEEE little kid spawning out of nowhere.

and guess what. From the stairs going down to the subway! yeah boi, and they did talk some good english.

So i guess what happened next is kinda boring if i'm still going to type it all down. I asked for directions and they happily guided me to Yongsan Market via Yoksu, Oksu and some other Su. bla bla bla

Scene 2

I saw this beautiful korean girl walking down the stairs...

...

End of story

Scene 3

Dinner time. I went to a restaurant nearby hoping to try something new. Yes, my Korean is still kinda bad, so i had to do stares, finger pointing, and charades to get what i want. Anyways, so i was in this restaurant trying to order something, however, the menu had no pictures. Only Words! So what was a guy like me supposed to do in that situation? i stood their opened my chinky eyes, and stared blankly.

lol

Well, that did kinda work since there was this guy that bailed me out and talked to the oyagi for me. Translated what i wanted to say and got me an OX Something soup(that supposed to taste really really good).

Reminded me the other night when a couple bailed me out when i was ordering some kimchiboekembap and manduk something dumplings.

Blank stares FTW.

and there are not stairs in this story. I just wanted to share

Yes, stairs stairs and more stairs. After this trip, im going to have buns of titanium and something else.

p.s. oh yeah i saw f16 flying around campus while smoking out some cool colors. got to hand it to the south koreans. too much money on their hands.

1st Day

Arrived in incheon airport around 6 in the morning local time. Man, did i not get any sleep.
Blamed it on hunger, the inflight movie, and anxiety attacks every few minutes whether ill be able to get in Korea or not with my
passport.

*Flashback
You see I'm Filipino-Canadian. My Dad's Canadian and my mom's a filipino. Typical Foreigner marrying a filipina type of couple.
tsktsk mom. you got tricked. or was it the other way around. haha
Anyways, being nationalistic about my country the Philippines, i applied a student visa using my Filipino passport. Got all documents ready including the school certification(From Yonsei University KLI) and even my bank account certificate. Submitted them through a travel agency and happily waited for it to be processed.
14 days 6 hours 8 minutes later, i got a big fat denied visa from the korean embassy. For God knows whatever reason, the korean people just snub me. To think i've been to korea 5 times already using my Filipino passport. 5 FREAKING TIMES.

boooo

Flashback story cut short, i'm forced to use my Canadian Passport which entitles me to 6 months stay in Korea.

*flashback end

Where's the problem?

I'm not so sure whether the 6 months can be applied for study visit purposes. Since this is my first time using my Canadian Passport to go to Korea for study purposes. I was afraid i might get deported back to my country. lol

So i was there lining up in the immigration area, then in my line 3 people were interrogated extensively by the immigration officer.

yeah, that did not help at all.

It really did not.

I was really tempted to switch lines, but i think that would make me look more suspiscious. Fortunately though, the immigration officer in my line was cute. So i figured i would be better of being deported by a cute korean girl than some old fat guy on the other line.

Moment of truth

"Good morning"

*stare and hands shaking

"ahh Yonsei.. How long is your stay"

"Around 3 months"

"Okay"

*stamps my passport and places 6 months

*end

Seriously..anti-climatic...but hey, anxiety attack 0 confidence on my canadian passport 1 .
